Being an international student Freiberg has a lot to offer on cultural grounds. The rich history of the city gave the city a great heritage of art, paintings and nostalgic buildings. There are numerous museums where you can find art and historical artifacts of all times as well as museums and galleries showing both modern and classic art.
At the center of the old city is the its largest square, the Münsterplatz, home of a farmers' market every day except Sundays. This is the site of Freiburg's Münster, a gothic Minster Cathedral constructed of red sandstone, built between 1200 and 1530. The Freiburg Münster is noted for its flamboyant spire.
